hmmmm

I'm sorry to be the first lowish grade on here :( I understand that you were setting a mood. Impressionistic music speializes in that, and that's what I consider myself leaning towards in my compositions, so here's my opinion.

The alberti base in the beginning set it up perfectly and had a lot of potential. The constant build up i thought wasnt as fulfilled as well as it couldve been at around :48, the added strings were nice, but why not elaborate on it? When using the alberti base, it's hard not to sound redundant, especially when using chords to exemplify a melody, i even have issues with that. I didn't think it worked too well in loop either. At :57, I wasn't sure where you were going with the ascension in the piano with the echo. In my opinion, it was monotonous. This would be a perfect intro to a longer piece though :) I suggest make a sequel in addition to this. You definately have something going here. Hopefully I didn't seem like a prick, if i did, sry :( Keep doin what you do dude.

hey this is exactly why i put my music here on newgrounds, to get some good critisizm and tips on how to improve my music :D thanks a bunch, thanks to you im gonna redo this song, longer, better. ill notify you when the next version is up. wheather you like it or not :p

Very well done

I can feel the aura of perfect theory at work. Great chord progression working with the harmonic minor. G minor is my favorite key, so i was expecting to bitch in this, but its one of the few cases where i can't find anything wrong. Dynamics were well put and done. I kind of wanted to hear more of the pattern change at 2:20 though. I'm a fan of dissonance only when it resolves, and you pulled it off well. This is exactly why theory is so important, because it works :D amazing job

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Glad to hear it. G minor is also one of my faves :D

Ah a true romantic ^__^

1. Who the %^&# is Aeroprism
2. What an amazing piece, usualyy i can find something to bitch about, but absolutely none here!! Perfect length. The wind sounds a bit rhapsy but i'm guessing thats the program so that wont count against you (i suffer similar issues) beautifully done piano, not sure what inspired this but its beautiful. Great chordal progression, nice fade out too ^__^

Nekoprism responds:

Thx for the review.

For your info, Aeroprism is the prism in Nekoprism. We are 2 here... =P But it's all good. You didn't know.

As for the inspiration, I guess it was just the inspiration of the event. I needed to compose something for a wedding... nonetheless, the wedding of my best friend. So I took the music theme that we are using in a couple of songs we did (most of them not online here) and composed that piece.

Thx again for the review!

Way too short

I wanted more dude!! Btw, i thought it said "Furby" lol. Anyway, i liked the triplet sequences you would do the right hand of the piano to contrast the chord pattern with the left, i'm a fan of doing that myself :) nice orchestration chords too.

MrFuby responds:

Thanks, i will make it longer)

Def. not classical

This is Irish/Celtic, Classical is often generalized for the common practice periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Early 20th Century (The Russians)) But def. had a Riverdance feel, i liked it, too short, thought the perc could be a bit bleaner though. great job otherwise :D

Aeris responds:

Thanks :D

Ya, unfortunately Newgrounds' definition of "classical" is using classical instruments, and no synth. No folk category like there should be, so this is the best NG's got.

I'll probably lengthen it when I start hearing it in my head again C: Right now if I lengthened it, it would end up repetitive.

Thanks for the review!

Nice form

I was expecting someone to mess up the art of fugue but u did nicely with nice syncopation thrown in there too :) Bach did use organ too you know ;) peaceful too. Nicely done, cant wait to hear the extended version ^__^

Sandman1278 responds:

yea,but i can never get an organ to sound good, im glad you like it, I will finish that longer version eventually, switching keys and such,

if you want to hear someone mess up art of the fugue i did a "cover" of counterpoints 1 and 2 http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/228265

Ah the sound of theory

Very Classical, too many orientations to be considered Baroque but its close due to the staccato movement of the forst part. Great job at 1 minute with the legato, nice cadenza after that. This piece seemed like it was teasing me, and a wanted to hear more. Great job with keeping in theory :)

SuperTonic64 responds:

You are correct, this is an early classical style piece, especially in the style of Bach, Scarlatti, and other composers around the 1700's. Thank you! ^_^ I'm glad you picked up on a lot of the nuances of the piece! It makes me feel like taking all these theory classes wasn't in vain. :)

Simple is okay

I like the fact its recorded this way, it makes it seem like someone is having a memoery flashback on a phonagraph. Only one complaint. The title has already been taken by Nobuo Uematsu (Melodies of Life) just be careful with that.

WingRider responds:

thank you for the review, and thanks for telling me the titles been taken already, to be honest i didnt know.

Absolutely amazing

Beautiful techno rendition of an amzing song. Everything flowed very nicely. A perfect remix!!
