nice synths

Nice synths and percussion. I love it! Very unique in this contest. I feel the anguish. Length is an issue though. Dynamics are effective. Nice fade out. Loop is okay. Bass is well done. It's a unique addition, and I like it. 4/5 8.5/10

Old song. :P

hmmm (by the way i'm judging)

reptitive bass line with basses. Good use of oriental sound. No use of dynamics. Length. Works well in loops. Lack of a climax. Addition of ocarina is nice. Overall its okay, nothing spectacular. Keep it up though, i can tell you just began. YOu have great potential.

FairSquare responds:

Thanks for the critical but honest review! :-)
And thanks for the compliment :P

hmmm

Use of syncopation is well thought of along with the additions of instruments throughout the piece. This time the ocarina seemed out of place. The snare could've been a bit more pushing. At about the 1:00 mark, the violin seems quite out of place in the piece. The ocarina sticks out unwelcomed in the piece. Doesn't work in loop. 3.5/5 7/10

Thanks for the review!

quite good, u'll do fine in the competition.

The melody flows very well. The use of crescendos is evident along with suspension. It is very mellow. Love theme can be seen from a broken heart. 2:25 eighth note run in melody is refreshing to hear. 2:55 speed change made it able to refocus. Accelerando with eighth note run into a retardando into a suspension crescendo at end is quite good. Works well in loop 5/5 10/10

broove responds:

Crescendo? Retardando? Accelerando? What are you talkin' about?
I don't know much about music theory, just some very basic things.

But thanks for the positive review mate ;)

Very well done

I can't wait to compare this son to the rest of the competition. I'll be judging a little more harshly then. Very beautiful flute solo work with a very well done piano harmony. the transfer into the strings with the use of percussion crescendo was very well organized. the string orchestra was fantastic. the violin solo with the piano harmony was well constructed. the use of a refrain abcba pattern really allowed the listener to fully get the emotion with a perfect resolution to the piece. u may hear from me later on a maybe congrats from a top ten nomination by me. 5/5 10/10

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the review! Hopefully I'll make it up into the top 10, but the other entries are all really good as well. I'm glad you liked my piece, thanks for the review! More importantly, thanks for judging the contest.

wow

wow at first i thought it was helarious, (the las and fas and plums) then i listened to it again, this is a fantastic arrangement a classic tchaikovsky piece, its mystifying, i'm sure tchaikovsky would be proud. usually i have something to bitch about but i can't think of anything. amazing voice too, is each yours? 5/5 10/10 (please maybe do a lilium from elfen lied arranement, i'd be happy to help if you would want to)

MaestroRage responds:

Heehee, well this song was meant to be a little on the silly side! =) I was having fun while I arranged it. Thank you kindly, I'd hope good old Tchaikovsky would have liked this. D= It would break my heart if he didn't. =) Ragey and I were thinking of doing a really big arrangement of Lilium as kind of a partnership anniversary thing. We'll be working on it some time, I'm sure. Thanks for listening!

Pirates of the Caribbean anyone??

Well done. Sounds very Hans Zimmerish, def. a compliment, but the strings sounded way to much like Pirates of the Caribbean. Also a little repetitive, I didn't feel a climax to the song, felt a little static in the mood. It's well orchestrated though. 8/10 4/5

Adamaja456 responds:

Yea, this was my first shot at orchestra type of music so i wasn't sure how to construct an epic ending. Thanks for the review and rating

wow

so amazingly heartfelt, and you did that in a week? that def. beats my omega (two weeks) I think you could place with this piece.

5/5 10/10

Jabicho responds:

Hehe, thanks for those kind words my friend! your piece is beautiful, so I think we can both do great. Thanks for checking it out!

pretty

very well done. who's yann tiersen though? 9/10 5/5

paradoxphenomena responds:

Yann Tiersen is a French musician/composer.

whoa

i can def. see where your going with it, but the beginning and the flute seems very disorganized. 10/10 for potential 6/10 for execution therefore an 8/10 and 4/5. great job otherwise, keep it up

paradoxphenomena responds:

I appreciate the Review, Thanks and I hope to hear from you more often.

i'm an aspiring composer so if anyone listens to my music, please feel free to write a review or comment
