not bad

You have the drive, which is good, a lot of new (not nu) metal screws that up. I felt though that it was missing something, and i'm not talking about vocals, cause as can be seen in buckethead, malmsteem, and others, you dont need a vocalist. I felt though that it couldve used a soloist here and theto make the piece not so redundant. The choir is a good idea. Keep it up :3

netty-swobb responds:

Thanks man :D This seems to be the only piece that i've done where the choir seems relavent ;) Seems to have worked well :) Thanks for listening ^^

Wow, impressed again :3

I was a bit skeptical at the beginning, but that simplicity with the motif gave it somewhere to go, and by god, did you ever, in my opinion, you should def. try score composing, cause i can imagine this being an ending scene to a movie where the main character is walking into a sunset talking about a moral he learned and then it continues into the credits. I definately liked the syncopation in there, it allowed it to be unique with using elements found in the Common Practice. How this isnt higher up, i'm not sure. I thought the ending couldve been elaborated and show cased by the strings a tad more, but that's just me. Overall, another extremely impressive display of compositional style :3

Jabicho responds:

Wow, thanks for that amazing comment. Yep, I think the ending cuts a bit the melody, but I remember when playing it, it felt like the person who's dreaming and remembering, is taken back to reality where he started to dream at the beginning, like an awakening :P Thanks for the great suppor, it means a lot

well done

I actually LOVE IT :3 very moving. from 1:20 on you extracted he essence of counterpoint extremely well. And the simplicity inthe beginning set the contrast beautifully. It was extremely peaceful and loved every moment. i'm impressed that you took my advice to heart :3 its a great tribute to an amazing song

btw i was the asshole if anyone was wondering :3

Compaq272 responds:

To tell you the truth I didn't consider it all that much... a bit but not completely. I'm thinking: "OK if an organ is too aggressive, then think of the least sound I can make." lol. I was GOING to use a really quiet synth texture or pad but no. LOL. The Space Harpsichord could have been good if I lowered the sound of the lower background notes because they overpower higher ones. But still I didn't want to really use synths.

wow

Very nice, I loved it, its so absorbingly peaceful. Its romantic. I feel like i'm remembering the great times i had with old friends. Beautiful ending too. Thanks for such a great piece.

hehehe

I lost my sanity so i'll go very into this review. This is so dark i'mloving it, i'm guessing you play some castlevania?? some interesting circus music in there too. I feel like this should be in something wicked this way comes. Or Panic at the disco (b4 they lost their balls in pretty.odd.) would pick this piece up. I was kinda hoping for a evil can-can, but oh well, it lacked a climax, but then again, insanity is about doing the same thing over and over and you did it beautifully. nicely done

atmos929NG responds:

nah, never played any castlevania (shame on me), I've listened to some of its Soundtracks though. Thanks a lot for your comments, I appreciate them.

Nicely improv'd

0:40-0:45 watch those chords, very serene and peaceful. Beautiful technique. Liking the ending except through 2:35-to like 2:43. But the rest was beautiful. Well done :3

Zero123Music responds:

I have now fixed the ending^^

thanks for the suggestions, I must listen to the beginning again for the slip-ups

thanks again

I'd hate to be the snare player

His arms are gonna get extremey tired. The thing about a symphony, no matter how short, is a variety of moods. The whole thing seemed like the allergro section before a great finale. It's good don't get me wrong, but it seemed to me a little one sided. The key of a minor (although fairly aggressive) is also a beautiful key, try to accent some beauty into your pieces too instead of only going for the epic drive.

PearlDrummer516 responds:

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I need to go back and clean up this song. The snare sounds very repetitive and a little overused. As far as your words of wisdom on symphonies, you are totally right. I really enjoyed your review, and I now have motivation to fix this song, or at least when I make a new one, to totally make it awesome.

Absolutely beautiful

It may seem i through tens lefft and right, but u fully deserve more than this on this piece. This i'm sure would even make Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimumura, and other soundtrack artists ball, i know i did ^__^, (cheerful crying) whoever bombs this shuold be curbstomped, its inhumane to such a beautiful piece... i absolutely loved it, fav'd for sure. I think this is how i'll feel when i go to college in august, kinda drifting, this was stunning

BlazingDragon responds:

I don't know if Nobuo would bawl, lol. But that would be pretty cool....

I've still got two more years of high school before college. I'm looking everywhere, but I just have no idea where to apply. I hope it works out for you though.

Thanks for reviewing!

Awesome

Nice promenade, the castle was extremely well done, I was expecting baba yaga though, but this was very professional, if you want anything arranged, I'll see what I can do for ya

LoopDaLoop responds:

Yiiiihhaaaa, The castle.

my favorite part starts at 00:42

wow

i'm absolutely stunned. is this you playing? This is ur best in my opinion. I love the cello coming in near 1:02. I love the impressionism of this piece. It's phenominal, faved def.

mjattie responds:

yea that's me playing

I'm glad you like it :)
